i finally got my flu jab. went all the way back to doc cheng's at amk..:) haha.. couldnt help it.. our family trusts him after all these years.. i was so scared for the whole day today hahaha.. stoopid me.. and the jab was over in like - one minute.
hope he didnt see me trembling.. urghh.. so paiseh. hahaha.
yeah aniway i took the jab after another rehearsal at the theatre practice. haha today's was a bit more action and fun.. i got to know the kids better and could play with them.. haha.. and i had kailing.. who could pei wo after aj and jj scoot off once tan zi gong 1 and 2 are done....bleeah :P hahaha nahh its okay lah..
and HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIOK :)
tan zi gong is super duper cool... want me kids to learn! haha.. they gonna be chao fit! chao flexible!.. chao stronngggg kids if they do..:) top it up with ballet if they wanna compose a graceful side as well..:) haha coolest kids on the block...
though i'm not so sure if i want them running round the house the way tanzigong kids at ttp do.
wont be able to afford frequent tile changes. and perpetual dizziness from all their spinning and round-a-bout chasing all day. hahaha.
yep. its another day..
was just bumming around my parents' room as they watched the news at ten just now... found an assortment of newly unwrapped gifts lying around.. my mind raced from guessing they were overdue teachers' day presents to guessing which interesting constituencies' rally/dinner/meet the people cum make the usual speech to the people session they went for where they got really lucky at the lucky draw...
(haha kk shouldnt be such a politics skeptic.)
turned out..
those were presents for my father, from his colleagues, students, students' parents.
his official last day of teaching.. was friday, 19 nov 2004.
i forgot, miscalculated, mis-whatever,...didnt remember it was so soon.
my dad's retiring.
after 42 years of teaching..21 years each at just two schools. oh gosh.. seems like just yesterday when i was running around in the science garden of YPS.. chasing after the stoopid peacock and really wild geese (yes i've been on a wild goose chase! haha.) and chickens..and the crazed goat (yes, a goat!) that charged after every one it saw.. (must have had a cousin of bulls..) haha..
the two or three times as a kid i crashed his track and field training camp and stayed over and played with all the athletes (i was a fat kid and of all games we loved catching)... running and screaming all over the school at night without a care in the world.. then sleeping on a teacher's desk at night..mr gary's jacket was my blanket..
oh gosh..
oh yes.. the hall!.. where i played countless hours of badminton with my erjie... the school carpark was where she first learnt to cycle.. the old bookshop!! haha..those old old primary school ones where the auntie attended to customers from the front and no one had access to the books all stored at the back.. and the auntie let me sit inside and fumble around as she worked..
the school was always clean.. not too huge or grand in its interior.. yet spacious enough...always quiet when i went..windy, comfortable..secure in the roomy-ness of its interior..
... haha..kay kay.. but its more than just the school.. those were all part of childhood memories.. chucked away quite some time ago...
what hit me most was.. all these years i've seen my dad at his work.. all the experiences he brought home and shared.. of tyrannical superiors, scheming colleagues, fussy parents and unrepentant students.. and so much more... they've been such a big part of his life. and his life, a as big a part of ours as it can ever be, always.. i cant imagine him without his work..
i wonder how he's taking it?... he doesnt say much.. he's been getting quieter over the years..
...its age isnt it?..
just a few days ago, mum received news that her tranfer out of townsville has been successful too. and its.. where i spent six whole years of my life. oh god..
i dont know what to think, what to feel.
what's life gonna be like?
