'tis the season........ for exams.
heyy folks!havent blogged in agess ahaha i miss blogging!
in case u havent already heard.. i've been stuck in exam season.. for the past 3 wks or so...
i'm now left with ONE MORE PAPER, that's like... 4 days away (zZzZz).
anyway this season, its been quite an experience i must say.. haha not sure if thats the right expression. there was the usual crazy cramming the night before, but this time its kinda diff to be surrounded by ppl u dont know in huge cold exam halls.. no gathering of buds to engage in nervous chatter moments before... no buds ard u for bawling and whining to right after ur paper's handed in.. haha.
i'm so thankful for having survived the bulk of this mad season.
cant stand it when i occasionally visit the nearby shops and malls and the christmas songs are playing, the shop signs scream SALEEEE and everyone's teeming abt excitedly...parents with their beaming kids in tow... youngsters hanging about having fun. -blehhh-
was especially difficult to find motivation this time around. think its cos of the many events lined up just after... cant help but keep thinking about them.
folks, i'm in the main cast for hall productions next year! ahahaha. sho exciting! there's fear and exhilaration. got a love-hate relationship with the stage... and the role i'm slated to play.....-gulp- might be my most daring yet. ahahaha oh dear everytime i think abt it i'm laughing one moment, feeling cold shivers down my spine the next... shall fill u guys in when the time is more appropriate.
the first exam i prepared for this year must be one of the most interesting ones i ever had. was for my theatre module! and we had to put up a 20-min excerpt of a play. haha we did a peranakan version of an english play, blithe spirit! rehearsals were tiring.. from the initial spate of many big and small conflicts among us. i must admit these human issues are usually the most draining... haha its really funny when now we look back together at all that happened. how loggerheads in my group became good friends.
basically we got to choose whether we wanted to be assessed as director, set/light/sound designer or actor.. so we had some issues among ourselves with regards to choice of roles and our director having to act as the lead as well cos we lacked MEN, and more imptly, he was good.
as all such productions big and small have to go.. there's the squabbles, sweat and tears in the process... but also a lot of crazy spontaneous hilarity and fun at the heart of it all. :)
i'll miss working and hanging out with my practical group.

with the blessing and assistance of great friends and God, it went largely quite well! cept a few bloopers at Q n A haha. "what is the significance of the title of the play.. tell me about the poem that inspired the playwright"

i just worked out my december schedule, and found that i have essentially only abt 3 full weeks of holiday!! :( of which 1 entire week i'll be away in fujian, china. and dont get me started on how the timing of my trip clashes with a gazillion things. for example, a TRIP TO GENTING WITH JINJING AND MAVIS. -tears hair-
and there's hall prod supper (very first official meeting!), queenie my dahling neighbour here on exchange flying home to the US for good, a12 bbq, d-blk sentosa outing (how i've yearned to be out in the sun while i was in my pai-kah state!)....
super sad right. gRrRr. bad planning and lack of FoReSigHt on my part.
haiii maybe i'm supposed to learn to make the most of my time with ppl..
haha gotta try also to ensure that the trip kind of makes up for all the misses.. even tho at the moment i'm not too optimistic..
i'll be going on my first carolling experience this dec! :) i've a total of 23 sessions...
haha time to stock up on the Honey and Ricola.
